Case Study: Redesign of EmployeeWebsite, Edinet

Project Overview

  • The City of Edina worked on the redesign, development and implementation of its employee website, Edinet, over the course of nearly one year. Work on the project began with a request for proposal on Feb. 1, 2023, and the new site launched Jan. 16, 2024.
  • The new Edinet was redesigned in SharePoint, a web-based Microsoft platform, allowing the site to integrate with other Microsoft tools the City uses. Prior, it had last been redesigned in 2018 in WordPress.
  • There were five members of the internal project team, including the City’s Digital Communications Coordinator, who led the project. Additionally, every department appointed an Edinet representative, who liaised with the project team throughout the redesign and provided feedback and project input.
Vendor partners were Creative Arcade and Blue Net, who led the design and development.
  • The project had a $50,000 redesign budget.
