The Most Expensive IT Decision Isn’t Always the Cheapest One

The Most Expensive IT Decision Isn’t Always the Cheapest One

This week we're onboarding a new manufacturing client.

On the surface, it looks like any other new partnership. The reality is very different.

Over the past several years, this company has worked with multiple MSPs. Each time they switched providers, they were promised a better experience. Instead, they found themselves dealing with one disappointment after another.

Their last onboarding took nine months.

During that transition, their previous provider removed its management and security tools before the new environment was in place. For months, the company operated with limited protection, reduced support, and a great deal of uncertainty.

Imagine trying to run a manufacturing business while wondering whether your technology is leaving you exposed every single day.

It made perfect sense that the owner came into our kickoff meeting feeling skeptical. He wasn't looking for another polished sales presentation. He wanted proof that this experience would be different.

Our onboarding team got to work by walking him through every step of the process. They reviewed the timeline, responsibilities, documentation, milestones, and exactly what would happen next.

Every question had an answer. Every expectation was clearly defined.

After the meeting, I heard from our team that the entire tone had changed. The owner relaxed. Confidence started replacing concern. He realized there was a plan, and more importantly, a team prepared to execute it.

Here’s a comment he said:

"You must really have this process locked down if you're willing to guarantee it."

He was referring to our 30-Day Onboarding Guarantee. If we don't complete onboarding within 30 days, we will refund the onboarding fee.

It reflects the confidence we have in our people, our process, and the preparation that happens long before the first device is ever touched.

The best part is that we're already ahead of schedule and expect to finish well before the 30-day deadline.

Stories like this are exactly why I believe choosing an IT provider is about far more than comparing monthly prices. Every business deserves clear communication, a defined process, and a partner who follows through on every commitment.

Technology shouldn't be another source of stress for business owners. It should simply work, allowing them to focus on running and growing their business.

I'm excited to welcome this manufacturer to Blue Net and even more excited to help them experience what a well-executed onboarding should feel like. Shout out to our project coordinator Bryn for doing an amazing job!
